First Steps to take when infected by computer virus and spyware:
- If you have other computers in your home or office that connect to the same internet connection, immediately disconnect the infected computer from the network. You want to isolate the infected machine so that the others don't get infected as well.
- If you have Anti-virus software installed run a deep scan, it may take several hours to run but let it run until complete. If it finds infections allow it to clean them all then reboot the computer.
- Before connecting your recently cleaned machine open and close several programs to see if they respond similar to before the infection, if it does go ahead and connect it back to the internet.
